Curse Research.

More than a few of the riftfarers have arrived in this world with a curse from their own affecting them. If you are one of them, it is requested that you respond with the effects of the curse and how 'detrimental' it is to your daily routine. Your name for further questions and research is also requested. Reply with a 'private filter' if desired.

Aid in Removing the Effects of a Curse

Those among you whom are skilled at destruction are asked to respond to this privately to determine if your skills and power is likely to be effective in destroying a specific manifestation of a curse that effects a riftfarer and was brought with them into this world.

What kind of curse are you dealing with, smartass? Is it affecting your body, your mind, what? You can't just go 'I'm cursed, it's here with me, I need someone to destroy it' and not be clear on what the curse even is.

This is an initial experiment to determine if curses brought with riftfarers can be fully removed from their bearer through transfer to an object and either isolated within for the duration, or ended by the destruction of the object. For the experiment being conducted this time, the curse effect is as removed from the person it was cast on as is currently possible. It is in a specific object at a specific location that will not be discussed publicly.

That depends on what caused the curse. If it's a spirit, you just gotta appease or exorcise it. If it's an object, you got to get rid of it or destroy it. Anything else, you're on your own buddy.

Perhaps for a future experiment. There are already multiple volunteers who are skilled in destroying objects with physical attacks. Another is not needed at this time.

[Ranma could be called on for someone else's cursed object. Daqiang did know the boy's capabilities from the fight they'd had. He wasn't opposed to Ranma on principle (though it was close), but he wasn't letting the boy anywhere near his heart.]

... On an unrelated note, you said you transferred your curse into some object? Think you could be a pal and do that for mine?

The curse effect currently being tested is not similar enough to what you have described for your own to know if it could be done. Curses that perform physical transformations are more difficult to move to objects because they are inherently tied to the life force of the one being transformed.

The effect that is tied to the means of activating the transformation may be able to be transferred or suppressed by being held within an object. It would take study of the curse as it activates and transforms you to determine if that is a solution that will work for you.

[Which was similar to what he had previously advised. But that had been before his interest in the phenomenon of learning so many of the riftfarers arrived with curses. It was not a complete commonality of why someone was brought to this world, but if there were correlations between those who arrived with curses - how long they stayed before the rifts removed them, what type of curse was brought in the most, etc - then there may be something worth learning buried within all that. Both for curse removal and suppression.. and finding the object that supposedly controlled the rifts.]
