Warnings: Daqiang will be asking about people's curses, but also requesting some help in killing his emotions tree so Orchid doesn't realize it's him asking. also, Daqiang doing his level best not to use 'this venerable one' and give himself away.

Curse Research.

More than a few of the riftfarers have arrived in this world with a curse from their own affecting them. If you are one of them, it is requested that you respond with the effects of the curse and how 'detrimental' it is to your daily routine. Your name for further questions and research is also requested. Reply with a 'private filter' if desired.

Aid in Removing the Effects of a Curse

Those among you whom are skilled at destruction are asked to respond to this privately to determine if your skills and power is likely to be effective in destroying a specific manifestation of a curse that effects a riftfarer and was brought with them into this world.

Not because they wouldn't be helpful with the actual (eventual) curse research - they would - but because he didn't want them asking questions about whose curse had been 'transferred' to the tree. There is no reason to assume offense. This venerable one is familiar with your abilities and this falls outside them. This venerable one will speak with you if a curse is brought forward that you may be able to help manage.

I suppose I am merely wondering what sort of curse requires destruction instead of mending.

Not all curses can be 'mended' to end them, G'raha. Some can only be ended by the death of the bearer or the caster. If the bearer can be altered to an object, then destruction of the object will suffice to end the curse without bodily harm to those bound by the curse.

[He could not remove the fullness of the curse from himself and Orchid, but he hoped he could remove the part that made his emotions begin to heal. To flourish with a new spring that was fast melting the ice which once locked his sea of heart in a cold and lifeless barren expanse of fog and snow.]

No. The curse came with the person who is effected by it when they entered this world.

[Please assume that means the caster isn't available to get rid of, G'raha. Please. He did not want to explain why he wouldn't want to remove them if they were the origin of a curse.

He's going to ignore the bit about G'raha's destructive magic. He didn't want G'raha inside his heart. He didn't want G'raha to be the one to take his emotions if he was successful. As much as he wanted to eliminate the problem of his emotions, that was not a burden of guilt he wanted G'raha to feel once he figured out what occurred.]

[ He isn't going to ask questions about why Daqiang simply didn't remove the person. It's surprising to hear, since it goes against his character. Which means the person must be someone of importance.

This venerable one is attempting to assure the privacy of the person cursed. It is this venerable one's understanding that such measures are common when conducting research of a sensitive nature.

[Not technically a lie. He was attempting to ensure his own privacy. And he had been subject to learning the various rules of research and experimentation that different worlds had since becoming captain. Some of which did focus on anonymous data.

I see. If you do not want me involved then you have reason for it, I suspect. Beyond anonymity as you have trusted me with some matters in the past. So I believe the reasons are either I will not approve or I will be hurt in the process.
